studentsSEEP is the Mayor’s joint effort between Atlanta Workforce Development Agency (AWDA), Atlanta Public Schools, and Atlanta Technical College to offer career-focused summer programs that will help our youth enter the workforce qualified and prepared to work. Under SEEP, juniors and seniors from the Atlanta Public School System can earn college credits in high-demand careers during the summer break. Eligible students take courses at Atlanta Technical College such as Patient Care Assisting, Shampoo Technician, Small Business Marketing Manager and many more! Classes are taught by an ATC instructor on the ATC campus, and they will receive a letter grade from the college.

The programs offered for summer 2011 are subject to change based on enrollment numbers and are as follows:

1. Patient Care Assisting
2. Shampoo Technician
3. Microsoft Excel specialist
4. Automotive Brake Specialist
5. Certified Warehouse

The programs will run from June 1- July 29, 2011 from 8:00 AM- 3:30 PM Monday through Friday, on the Atlanta Technical College campus. Eligible candidates may receive a monetary bonus in the end upon successful completion. 

COMPASS Tests will be administered to students interested in the program. The COMPASS test will be administered in room 218 at AWDA on the following days:

April 19  (Tue.)  4:30 PM- 6:30 PM 
April 21  (Thurs.)  4:30 PM- 6:30 PM
April 26  (Tue.)  4:30 PM- 6:30 PM
April 28  (Thurs.)  4:30 PM- 6:30 PM

The test will also be conducted  on Saturday, April 23 and 30 at Atlanta Technical College.  In order to better serve you, all candidates must email sford@atlantatech.edu to schedule a test date and time.
