Mayor’s Youth Program Presents Annual SHRM Workshops

Required Workshops for Summer Internship

Atlanta, January21, 2010 - It’s an exciting year as the Mayor’s Youth Program (MYP) welcomes the 59th Mayor of Atlanta, Kasim Reed, and kicks-off the New Year with its annual workshops presented by the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM). The workshops will be held every Saturday throughout the month of February (6th, 13th, 20th, and 27th). The workshops serve as prerequisites and a requirements for students who are requesting summer internships. Students should choose one Saturday to attend the workshops being held from 8:30am – 1pm at Atlanta Workforce Development Agency. Each workshop is 50 minutes long covering the following topics: Time Management, Communications, Ethics, and Cartown -interactive game to teach students the importance of ethics in everyday life experiences.

The workshops support the MYP’s mission to help Atlanta Public School seniors develop an active plan to attend post-secondary institutions and/or workforce training.
