The Mayor's Youth Program, received a $25,000 donation from Washington Mutual to support 'Atlanta Promise' seniors with their transition from high school to the next phase of their lives. Deborah Lum, executive director of the Atlanta Workforce Development Agency (AWDA) accepted the award on behalf of the program. "Donations from community partners such as Washington Mutual allow 'Atlanta Promise' seniors a chance to participate in Work Readiness and Financial Literacy workshops, summer internships in fields pursuant to their goals, technical certification classes, and to receive scholarships to cover their unmet college needs," said Ms. Lum.
After the $25,000 check was presented by a Washington Mutual representative, Deborah Lum was asked to do the ribbon cutting for Washington Mutual’s new Midtown Financial location.
