The Washington Internship Program - a combination of work and study - places undergraduate and graduate students, or college graduates, in our nation's capital for a semester (summer, fall, or spring). Year-long internships are also available. Here are just a few of the places where interns in the program have worked
Louis Carr Internship Foundation (LCIF) provides 20 paid internships in communications to undergraduate students of color during the summer immediately following their freshman, sophomore or junior year of college.
The Institute for Responsible Citizenship is currently accepting applications for its summer program at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. Each summer, 12 of the most promising young minority male college sophomores in the country (possibly 24 this coming summer) are given the chance to travel to the nation's capital and engage in prestigious internships while taking rigorous classes at Georgetown. The courses in government and economics are designed to provide these young men with the skills necessary to critically analyze the world's problems while adhering to a deep respect for civil liberties.
Interns in the Washington, DC office will be able to observe the inner workings of the federal government. Working with the Washington staff gives students a chance to see how the Senate functions, and how it interacts the other branches of government. Additionally, interns are encouraged to take advantage of everything Capitol Hill has to offer, including listening to floor debate, congressional hearings, seminars and speeches, utilizing Senate research facilities, and visiting Washington’s museums.
The White House Internship Program offers an excellent opportunity to serve our President and explore public service. We are seeking exceptional candidates to apply for this highly competitive program. In addition to typical office duties, interns attend weekly lectures, tours, and complete an intern service project.
